Delete your FlatOrg account
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in FlatOrg, the household task
app for co-living flats, and exactly which data is deleted.
Option 1 — In the app
- Open FlatOrg and sign in.
- Go to Settings. (If you are not in a flat, you are on the start screen instead.)
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
- If you are your flat's admin and others are still in it, choose who becomes the new admin.
- If you are your flat's treasurer and others are still in it, first give the treasurer role
to another member (Settings → Treasurer). That member's payment details then
replace yours.
Deletion happens immediately. For your security, you need to have signed in within the last
few minutes; if you signed in longer ago, the app asks you to sign out and back in first.
Option 2 — By email, without the app
If you no longer have the app installed, email
hwb33studentvillage@gmail.com
from the email address you use to sign in to FlatOrg, with the subject
"FlatOrg account deletion request". We will delete your account and the data listed below,
and confirm by reply, within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your login (your email address and sign-in method, including Google or Apple sign-in).
- Your member record: display name, email address, role, vacation status,
remaining swap tokens, and the push-notification token for your device.
- Your fines, payments and freezes used, if you have nothing left to pay.
- Your in-app notifications.
- The reminder records for reminders you sent or received.
- The record that your flat marked you as back from vacation this week.
- The task-swap requests you made.
- Your place in the task rotation — your task becomes vacant for your flatmates.
- If you are the last member of your flat, the entire flat:
all tasks, issues and shopping items in it.
What is kept
- An amount you still have to pay. If your flat uses fines and you still have
an amount to pay, your name, your fines and your payments stay visible to the treasurer of
your flat, marked "left the flat". They are deleted when the treasurer confirms or records
the last payment.
- Issues and shopping-list items you added to a flat that still has other members.
They belong to the flat and stay useful to your flatmates. They are stored with an internal
user ID that no longer links to any account — never with your name or email address.
- Server logs may contain that internal user ID (not your name or email) for up to
30 days, after which they are deleted automatically.
Some data leaves FlatOrg when you use a feature that sends it elsewhere, and is then outside our
control: issue reports you email to your landlord go from your own email account, and issue text
you choose to translate is processed by DeepL.
Leaving a flat without deleting your account
In Settings, tap Leave Flat. Your member record, notifications
and task are removed from that flat, but you keep your login and can join or create another flat.
If you are the last member, leaving deletes the flat and everything in it.
